The District Line approaches slow and steady into the station. By slow and steady I mean slow and sluggish. Almost everyone living in West London has something to say about the speed of the District Line, yet I find it to be a nice and easy ride. Unless that is when I’m commuting somewhere and in a rush, which most of the time, I am. But, this Saturday afternoon I sat on the District Line reading my book, because you can do that on the District Line, and I thought how peaceful this city is in the rain. Because, yes it’s almost always raining and yes, you have plenty of time to pull out a book and crank out a chapter between Wimbledon and Earl’s Court.
